Home Tour : Classic Indian home decor

Hello November! My favorite month of the year has finally arrived. Here in India, it is a month of subtle winter and balmy sun. A wonderful month to make your home cozy and vibrant. With lot of projects on my plate, I am going to start with inspirational interiors. I have rounded up some amazing home tours to make this month a lot brighter.

Today I am going to share few pictures of a beautiful home. The person behind this interior inspiration is one of my good friends, Shrinkhala Dixit. She is a woman with many hats. A hospital management professional, renowned make-up artist and a caring mother of two adorable children; she has an amazing skill of creating new ways to decorate her home. She lives in a four room apartment in a high rise in Lucknow- India's city of Nawabs.

Shrinkhala has designed every bit of her spacious abode. Her house is a classic example of Indian style of home decor. The interiors exhibit vibrant textiles and furniture giving this home an ethnic appeal.

The entrance is adorned with beautiful potted plants. The traditional metallic lamp along with rustic colored tiles on walls give the doorway a completely different look.

This balcony attached with the living room is a cozy area which gives you positive vibes. Chic cushions go well in tone with the decor of the entire home.

This contemporary four-poster bed is again a beautiful addition to the main bedroom. The breezy drapes at the sides of the bed are again a great way to dress a four poster bed.

The love for greens can be seen in every corner of this house. The picture shows bed-side decor which has been done up so tidy using simple things.

One would be lying if she says that the sight of such a nicely decorated house doesn't lift her spirits. Looking at it not only shows the creativity of the owner, but also her will to carve out her own space in a busy life. The trick is simple- just do it. Just get up one day and start doing up one corner of your home, follow it up with another and so on.  After sometime, you will be happy to see your efforts taking shape. Keep creating and keep inspiring. Will meet again with my next home tour!
