Flea Market tour : Banjara Market, Gurugram
Recently I visited the famous flea market of Gurugram known as 'Banjara Market'. Truth to be told, the visit was not meant to happen. It was the alternative to Lodhi Garden which was so crowded when attempted to enter its lush grounds this afternoon that we just ran ( drove actually). A frantic search for proverbial 'savior' of the day landed us at the Banjara Market some 30 kilometers removed from our original afternoon retreat.
As we reached the market, we were greeted by the usual suspects -pottery and furniture. At once relieved and disappointed - for it was comforting to have arrived at a place which, even if not worthy replacement to the Lodhi Garden, at least had the comfort of familiarity but was at the same time disconcerting to once again be presented with sights a little 'too' familiar. The same pottery, the same furniture! It was good though that we didn't run from here too. A stroll down the narrow path running bedside wares laid on the roadside swiftly proved way more rewarding than originally assumed.
I took few pictures if not many of the things you might like. I bought two planters and a wooden frame for a DIY project.
Few furniture shops had a decent collection of modern chairs and tables. For people who love traditional furniture have a lot of options here.
Bargaining is an ethical practice here. You can see lot of people haggling with shopkeepers which is quite an interesting sight.
There is an ATM about a kilometer away from the market which we did not explore though.
So if you are bored and want to explore a flea market, this is a good one . I will not say the best one as you can get similar stuff in other markets of Delhi as well.
To write a beautiful post it is very important to write a beautiful container and have prepared a very good design and I got a lot of inspiration from your post and I would also like to post like you in my life.
